Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Preview for the First half of 2012 @ Toy Fair NY
falsemem
The good folks at Konami North America gave us a preview of the first half of 2012's Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. Many new cards and some of your favorites return this year, here's a sneak peak of what's in store for us hardcore fans.

The new Zexal series brings us Order of Chaos, released on 1/24. And new Duelist Portfolios that come in 4 and 9 pockets sleeves. 20 pocket sleeves are in talks for the new portfolios for next year, or possibly at the end of the year.

Also on the table, are this year's special duelist card sleeves featuring Kaiba and Obelisk to be released on 5/29/2012. Our guess next year's featured duelist sleeves are with Malik/Yami Malik with Ra.

Dragons Collide Structure Deck was released last week. The deck comes with 40 cards with Light and Dark elements. This deck comes with some of the classic monsters such as the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Red-Eyes Black Dragon.

A redux of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series comes Legend... wait for it... ary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years. Each booster pack comes with a Secret Rare, one Ultra Rare, one Super Rare, and one Rare in every pack. It contains 11 cards than the typical 9 cards per pack.

This Special Edition of Order of Chaos gives players a second chance to get their hands on the year’s first set, Order of Chaos. Each Order of Chaos Special Edition contains three booster packs, plus one Super Rare card; Effect Veiler or The Winged Dragon of Ra on 3/06/2012.

Have you seen our heroes in one metal tin? No, I didn't think so. This new set from the Premium Collection has booster cards from Extreme Victory, Generation Force, Photon Shockwave, and Order of Chaos. Each tin has 1 secret rare Elemental HERO The Shining, 1 Secret Rare variant art (Number 34: Terror Byte), 4 Secret rare cards & 8 Super Rare Cards from a special 23-card set containing new monsters from all 4 Yu-Gi-Oh! Series. You can get this tin on 3/20/2012 for $9.99 USD.

Character starter deck: Yuma, XYZ Symphony featuring Number 39: Utopia. One of Konami's largest Starter Decks in 8 years. One of the most unique box arts ever. In stores on 4/17/2012 for $9.99 USD.

Next is Galactic Overlord, a successor to 2008's Phantom Darkness. In this series, popular monsters are reborn as "Lightray" monsters. Also included is the next evolution of Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, now deadlier than ever as Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. In stores 5/08/2012 for $3.99 USD per pack.

Players will be very content during the many hours of summer Dueling with a new Structure Deck release in late June which is designed specifically for the North American and European markets to give players a jumping-off point into a competitive, tournament-Level Deck. July’s introduction of another booster set, Hidden Arsenal 6: Omega Xyz will wow players with its set of all-foil cards. Hidden Arsenal 6 contains every kind of monster ever made, including Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, and Xyz Monsters. In stores 7/24/2012 for $3.99 per pack.

Battle Pack: Epic Dawn, a Sealed Pack play is where Duelists buy new packs and play with the contents right out of the wrapper, rather than using cards from their existing collections. Sealed Pack games are a wild and wooly ride, where each player’s skills and abilities are tested to their limits. For an MSRP of $1.99 per pack, Battle Pack: Epic Dawn will be supported by brand new Sealed Pack tournament experiences, so Duelists will need to practice in advance with Battle Packs at home. Battle Packs also include brand new card technologies: each pack includes one glossy black or glossy white Rare Card, one special, shiny card (similar to those found from Duel Terminal machines), and three Common cards.
